About Renée

This is me!

This is me!

When I graduated from DePaul University with a degree in adult learning theory I knew that the training and development (T&D) world was on the verge of monumental change.  I had already seen the changes creeping into the world of medical education.  In my role as a grant specialist at a mid-sized pharmaceutical company I saw the educational strategy change from large symposia to curriculum based small group sessions.  However when I started managing the company’s internal medical education program I saw the advances in technology that would make meeting the needs of the individual learner much more of a reality than in the past.  Nevertheless, when it came to finding examples of how to use these new tools I found more questions than answers.  Three years after graduating from DePaul I decided to leave the world of phamaceuticals and devote myself to learning more about social media and what this class of technologies has to offer for learning and development.

The point of this blog is to share my findings and experiences with those that are also interested in the connection between learning and social media.  My hope is to be able to keep abreast of new research and emerging technologies and use my experience in the learning environment to provide subscribers of this blog with actionable information on how to use the tools of social media to enhance their T&D programs.

Hope you enjoy the blog!

P.S. I invite you share your thoughts, experiences, and questions.  I look forward to hearing from you!
